LOOKING FOR PEACE

In all man’s activity, one ingredient is often missing: PEACE. When we come to the place that we realize we have no inner peace and are filled with uncertainties and questions of life, there is only one answer: the reality of knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. How can this take place?
First, it is imperative for each of us to realize what we are in relationship to an almighty, perfect, righteous God. We are sinners and unrighteous in His sight.

"As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one."
Romans 3:10 (KJV)

When Adam disobeyed God, he brought sin into the world. As a result, each of us is born with a sinful nature.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God:"
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

God knew it would be impossible for anyone to live a sinless life. Yet He loved man and chose to provide a way that we might become acceptable in His sight.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8 (KJV)
Forgiveness of sin and the assurance of salvation is a gift from God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)

Salvation can not be earned or bought!! It requires that we humbly come before God; admit we are a sinner in His sight; that we believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and that we ask Him to come into our heart and life and be our Savior.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

When we honestly and sincerely ask God to save us, He grants us spiritual, eternal life. He makes us His children.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:12-13 (KJV)

This is an eternal, Godly transaction.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:1 (KJV)

We are saved by God’s grace and eternally kept by His grace.

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."
John 10:27-29 (KJV)
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."
Eph 1:13-14 (KJV)

Now it is important to learn to live in this new life. This is accomplished by reading the Bible, by prayer (simply talking with God) and by attending a Bible believing church that teaches the Word of God. Experiencing the peace of God comes as we grow in understanding of spiritual things. John 14:27; Philippians 6:7: Isaiah 26:3

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
John 14:27 (KJV)
