Nothing is Insignificant
Have you ever notice the curled, thread-like extensions on the center of an orchid? If not, take a good look the next time you have a chance. They are sometimes as fine as a hair and curled as if each one was personally formed. Maybe they give that appearance because they are formed by the Master Designer, Jesus Christ.
Is it not amazing that our Lord would think of creating an orchid with such hair like details and at the same time create the sun or the Grand Canyon? Not only is each snowflake uniquely different but each sparkling star in the velvet night sky is diversely different but with the handprint of its Creator.
Nothing is too small or insignificant to our Lord. The Gospel of Matthew chapter ten tells us that the Lord knows every sparrow that falls to the ground and even how many hairs are on our head. Do you remember when Jesus was with his disciples in the temple, watching the people give their offerings? Jesus notice the poor widow giving her offering even thought it was only a few cents.
What does all this have to do with you and me? It means none of us are insignificant to our Lord. It means He is concerned with all our heartaches, trials, disappointments and needs regardless of how small or unimportant they may appear to others. None of our sacrifices or offerings, regardless of the size, goes unnoticed by Him. When no other person takes notice of us or the ministry we are involved in, our Lord, the Master Designer and Creator of the universe, takes notice.
What a comfort! Regardless of what the world or Satan may say, our life, our testimony, our service is important and does make a difference. Who ever you are, and what ever your Lord has given you to do, do it with joy. It is important to Him! "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ." Colossians 4:23-24
Our eternal reward or the amount of pleasure our lives give the Lord is never based on the "size" of our ministries or how important we are in this world. It is based alone upon our obedience.
POINT TO PONDER:Take some time this week to notice "little" things in your life and then think consider the impact they have on you.
