A CHILD'S TRUST

Isn't it amazing how a little child will jump into their father's or mother's arms, totally confident that they will be caught?!! They do not stand and weigh the "what ifs". They don't calculate if dad is strong or coordinated enough to catch them. They don't consider if other kids thrust their dad enough to jump.

They jump!

They jump because they are convinced of their dad's love and that he will do what he says. Nothing else matters. Nothing else is important.

On the spiritual level, God is our heavenly Father. When He leads us to do something, when the times of need, trial and trouble come, how do we respond? How often do we begin to calculate and to weigh the options? We try to take in all considerations to determine if we can really trust God to keep His Word.

We really only need to be sure of two factors, just like the small child: 1) God loves me, and 2) He always keeps His Word!
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." Proverbs 3:5
"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation." Isaiah 12:2
"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Psalms 34:8

Whatever need you may have today, what ever God may be leading you to do, "JUMP"! Just trust in your almighty Father and He will "catch" you. "The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them." Deuteronomy 33:27.

THOUGHT TO PONDER:

Is it hard for you to totally trust God? If so, which of the two requirements is the problem for you? Are you convinced that God loves you? Are you convinced that He will keep His Word?
